Mechanical Specification

 

The implemented mechanical standard for ATLAS modules is the 6HE Double-Europe Printed Circuit Board (PCB).  Two types of ATLAS PCBs are implemented:

ATLAS modules are located in one or more 14-slot 19”-sized racks (enclosures):

ATLAS racks are assembled in one or more free standing cabinets, depending of the system configuration and PI I/O capacity, and in accordance with the existing site conditions.  Both, single and multiple cabinet housings are common:

Introduction of signal cables from the process is done through the cable inlets at the bottom of the cabinet, and furthermore inside the cabinet to the appropriate terminal strips.  A portion of a terminal strips is presented:
